Main photo bungalow in Anglesey after wall coating

Spray painting onto the walls of a pebble dash bungalow, Anglesey, Wales

When you are faced with painting a pebbledashed house, it’s far better, quicker and more effective to spray the paint, which is where our durable and long life exterior wall coating systems excels.

In most cases, to keep a house looking nice, it needs to be painted every year, but with our house painting system, you need not worry about repainting for over 20 years!

That’s not a spurious or over enthusiastic claim, nor is it “fake news”, we have been applying exterior wall coatings since 1986 so we KNOW our system works, but why is it so special?

Here is a house, in Anglesey, Wales, where we spray applied our durable exterior wall coatings.

This case study shows the various stages involved in renovating exterior walls and applying, by spray, our exterior wall coating system.

The house itself, as we found it, was painted pebbledash. If you have ever tried to paint pebbledash, you will know it is not as easy as it looks, takes a lot more paint than smooth render, and often the end result is far from perfect.

Which is where our wall coating spraying teams come in.

So what is the process involved in applying an exterior wall coating?

Painting a house with an exterior wall coating is a far more in-depth process than some fella turning up and daubing paint onto the wall. Which is why people choose us to repaint their home exterior, as we DO THE JOB RIGHT!

The very 1st thing we do is to check for wall defects.

This could be cracks in the walls, patches of hollow render, damp or mould, loose and flaky paint, and so on.

If there is anything wrong with the walls, we fix that first before we do anything else.

We them mask up the doors and windows and lay dust sheets on the ground to avoid making any mess: We realise this is your home, not a building site.

In the case of pebbledashed houses, we apply a bonded cement slurry known as “bagging” which consolidates the wall surface and gives us a good key to move to the next stage, which is applying a primer coat.

You can see a wall here coated with “bagging” and ready for the next stage

The system is then allowed to dry before we move on.

In the photo below, you can see the bagging has dried.

This is the garage, adjacent to the house.

Please note we only work on garages if the house is being done, we do not do small areas such as a garage on their own. (We’re not a local handyman service)

Once the bagging has dried we paint on the primer coating, and allow to dry.

We then get our spraying machine ready, maxing up batches of the wall coating ready to feed into the machine.

We go round and check the masking paper is still intact, we don’t want any overspray onto the windows do we?

And we repeat the process all round the house.

Spraying the walls is by far the quickest part of the job; most of our work on each home is centred around preparation work, one reason why our house painting jobs last upwards of 2 decades, and that comes with a guarantee too.

So what does a wall coating guarantee protect against?

Well, for one, it gives you peace of mind in the knowledge that after we leave, and for the next 20 years, your home will be fully weatherproofed and looking freshly painted even as the years pass by.

The guarantee covers you for 20 years against the coating cracking, chipping, peeling or fading, plus it is guarantee to repel damp and mould too.
