It must have been done properly, and with a high degree of skill, when it was first painted with a wall coating, way back in 1992.

On most jobs we have to do repairs to the house but not this time!
Although the majority of work we do involves a fair amount of repairs, such as re-rendering, brickwork pointing, damp proofing and so on, the fact that this house already had a performance exterior wall coating, meant that repairs were not needed.
That just goes to show the claims made, not only by ourselves, but by other wall coating companies, that the system lasts a long time, in this case, are true!
The Andura wall coating sprayed onto this house back in 1992 actively repelled the weather and stopped the walls from developing defects and issues, so well done Andura.
So what did we do to renovate the exterior of this house.
Well, because we did not have to do any repairs we set to, powerwashing the walls, and then masking up the doors and windows, and laying dust sheets down, to start on the first stage of the coating.
The first stage was to hand-apply a cement based bonding primer, which you can see in the photo above.
We then applied a primer coating across the whole house.
Once the walls are fully primered, we then set up the spray gun and mix the top coat ready for a spray application.
The spray machine was the same type used back in 1992 when it first had an exterior wall coating applied. I bet the homeowners were cock a hoop with the fact that the original paintwork lasted 10 years longer, maybe even 15, than the warrantied period.

No cracks, hasn’t faded or peeled, just looks a little tired, but not bad for 30 years lifespan!
After applying the 2 stage primer to the walls we sprayed a generous coating of Wethertex MP44 onto the walls.
Wethertex is by far the most advanced exterior wall coating system on the market today and what is more, it is fully breathable and does not seal the house.

Tastes change over the years and as they have lived with looking at a grey house for 20 years they decided to have a change of colour and it certainly make the house stand out.
The white coating on the outside walls of this house will, just as it’s coating predecessor, stay looking this good, and will not fade, crack, chip or peel, for (at least) the next 20 years.
Hey maybe even the next 30 years, as this property has proved, you never know.
