Technical Specification of Never Paint Again Textured Wallcoatings
Wallcoating On Pebbledash Wall
This shows the various stages of our exterior wall coating. From right to left, this shows: untreated pebbledash. Then we see a coat of latex bonded render (brown), a coat of water resisting primer (white), and then on the left, the final spray applied top coat of textured exterior masonry coating ( colour: warm dusk). This will now last for up to 30 years!
Wallcoating On Brick Wall
This shows the same process as above, but on unpainted brick. This brick has had a coat of latex render, then a water proof primer paint, and then the top coat was spray applied with a "Graco President" airless spray machine.
Wallcoating On Another Brick Wall
This example shows a brick wall that has received a process known as "bagging", which is a brush applied modified latex render, filling imperfections as it goes and reestablishing loose and missing mortar joints (pointing). It then had a waterproof "pliolite" primer, and a sprayed textured top coat wallcoating finish.

Never Paint Again Textured Masonry Coating
What is it?
As we source the best ingredients & materials and constantly strive to improve our range of paints & coatings on offer to you, from time to time, we may change specifications slightly. Below is a typical composition of an exterior textured wallcoating product and is shown for illustration purposes only. More advanced technical information is available to architects and specifiers and members of the trade upon request and in several languages.
Protection and Decoration
Resistance to Dirt Retention
Well formulated paints based on Never Paint Again resins are hard and resist dirt pickup and hence are well suited to urban and industrial zones. They are self cleaning, any dirt retained is easily washed away by rain.
Resistance to blistering and peeling
Deep penetration into the masonry surface ensures long lasting adhesion. The micro porous nature of Never Paint Again based paints means that they protect the masonry surface from wind driven rain, yet allow entrapped moisture vapour to escape.
Unique ageing characteristics
Never Paint Again resin has been especially developed to resist in a controlled way the damaging effects of the sun's UV rays. Paints based on Never Paint Again resins are self- cleaning. A few microns on the surface of the paint film are regularly eliminated by rain, removing any retained dirt, preserving an appearance close to the original.
All weather application
The film of masonry paints based on Never Paint Again resins is not affected by climatic conditions. Application of these paints is possible either at low ambient temperature or at high wall temperatures. Night time freezing temperatures after application will not affect the paint performance. Our products can be applied all year round in any weather condition apart from constant rain.
"OK, I'm interested in the NEVERPAINTAGAIN™ exterior wall coating system, but what actually is it?"
- "Is it paint? If not, why not?!"
- "Why is it so durable? "
- "Does it really do 'exactly what is says on the can?!'"
The skilled technicians and engineers at our dedicated factory facility in England, carefully blend a variety of the highest quality "ingredients", to our own unique formulation, to produce a superior, premium product, which once applied, will last for years.
(Disclaimer): We are exterior wall finish main contractors as well as manufacturing agents and thus licence the formulation and use of our products through vetted and professional sub contracted paint Manufacturers and independent dealers across the world.
We are the only company (in the UK at least) who tell the public this fact!
Why not let arguably, the most credible and professional wall coating company, take good care of your home and your home improvement worries!
Strict quality is maintained throughout. We deliver next day anywhere in the United Kingdom, sometimes longer for overseas dealers.
"What is the NEVERPAINTAGAIN™ exterior wall coating product made of?"
1. MICA
Used in the paint industry as a lubricant and extender preventing cracking and improving adherence to the substrate. Mica particles align themselves in the paint film itself, similar in nature to the scales on the body of a fish, forming an exceptionally durable and weather resistant surface to the wall coating.
2. ALKYD RESIN
Used in the production of decorative and architectural paints, this special resin is notable for its rapid initial drying. Even when applied in thick individual coats, the films produced are flawless in appearance. This also gives excellent flexibility, elasticity and PREVENTION AGAINST CRACKING. Alkyd resin also exhibits resistance to yellowing, which is a common occurrence in many traditional exterior paints and wall coating products on the market today.
3. POLYFIBRE
Milled fibre flocks are used as reinforcing FILLER and structuring agent to provide improved application properties and non-slump characteristics in thick coating films, especially on vertical surfaces and gives better protection on corners and sharp angles. Film strength, flexibility and resistance to cracking are improved by incorporating these flocks into the formulation of all Never Paint Again™ exterior spray applied masonry coating products.
4. FUNGICIDE
The fungicide used in the NEVER PAINT AGAIN™ exterior wall coating system, is a highly active, broad spectrum antimicrobial agent that does not contain mercury. Its higher viscosity and fine particle dispersion is specifically formulated so as not to discolour due to interactions with various elements that may be present in some paint formulations. Fungicide will not cause any undesirable weathering effects such as chalking, fading or discoloration and is also highly effective against a broad spectrum of fungal and algae species typically found growing on some painted surfaces.
5. TITANIUM DIOXIDE
Titanium dioxide (Chemical element symbol TiO2) is a multi faceted, photo responsive material. In addition to its light scattering abilities, TiO2 absorbs UV light energy. As a white pigment, TiO2, is widely used for its efficiency in "scattering" visible light and imparting whiteness, brightness and opacity when incorporated into paint products.
Light scattering is accomplished by the refraction and diffraction of light as it passes through or near pigment particles, however the ability of TiO2 to absorb UV light energy can provide significant improvements in durability and weatherability of polymer products such as this. This product has established the use ofTiO2 in applications where chalking stability and colour retention are essential.
6. AQUA RESIN
A medium fine particle size, cellulose ether stabilised, vinyl acetate copolymer dispersion agent, designed for use in many high quality masonry paints. With excellent durability, high resistance to alkali and low hydroplasty which reduces water uptake leading to lower dirt pick up, especially in the textured coating products we offer. It has excellent universal colorant acceptance and displays excellent flexibility characteristics.
7. PERLITE
A natural volcanic glass type substance, made by rapid cooling of molten rock (lava) and the spherical cracks, which cause it to break into small pebbles.. This moisture within forms tiny steam bubbles under heat of between 1,500 and 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit and the perlite is expands from 15 to 20 times its original volume giving excellent aggregated insulation properties.
8. PLIOLITE™ RESIN
A Newtonian thermoplastic resin styrene-acrylate copolymer. It has good UV light resistance, excellent adhesion and superb weathering properties. The micro particles of pliolite masonry resin penetrate very easily into the underlying surfaces. This not only anchors the paint film to the substrate but also gives excellent durability and outstanding water resistance.
9. SILICONE
An aqueous, solvent free silicone resin is used to prevent water and damp ingress into the substrate. Water is prevented from penetrating into the masonry from the outside but moisture that has accumulated inside the property is free to escape, acting in a fashion similar to the human skin. Furthermore, the silicone resin maintains a dry, hydrophobic zone beneath the finish and suppresses capillary moisture transport throughout the billions of voids within the substrate. Harmful salts and alkalinity in the construction materials therefore have no chance of breaking through the surface.
10. OPTIGEL
Optigel products are thrixotrophic agents based on bentonite. The silicate lamella is able to build up a "cardhouse" structure due to their inherent "platelet" structure. This leads to a viscosity increase under low shear conditions, at rest it brings about a yield point. Movement therefore is rather low. When movement stops, the "house of cards" structure returns to its original condition so viscosity and yield value recover. The advantages are lower synersis, less settling of pigments, reduced "sag" upon application, less dripping, higher paint film thickness and better overall coating properties.
