Plymouth Devon Exterior wall coatings.
Another fine example of our work sent in from the Plymouth office. This imposing Victorian villa had not been decorated externally for many years and was suffering badly with flaking paint, damaged mouldings, penetrating damp, and all sorts of ailments. In addition the original sash windows were rotting in places and required urgent repair.
During a week and half in spring 2004, this property was scaffolding, powerwashed, scraped down and all loose and missing bricks and pointing were made good. We then rubbed down the old paint on the windows, and applied a primer, after making sure all glass panes were intact and secure and any rotten wood had been removed and replaced with brand new wood, shaped specifically to fit these old windows. (the house is located in a conservation area)
We then instructed our paint factory to manufacture a special very fine textured wall coating in a specific “period” old fashioned colour, which as you can see brought the house back to the grand old lady we see today!
We then picked out the various mouldings in a contrasting old english cream colour, painted the windows in a tough marine-grade white gloss paint to finish the job off. The scaffolding was then taken down and the owner was left with this lovely grand old house, protected from the weather, waterproofed from the damp and free of maintenance.

We actually did the rear of the house too, which included the outbuildings, including a former domestic cook house and bakery where the “Gentleman’s” servants would bake bread and prepare food for the masters of the house.
Unfortunately, I can’t find the photo’s of the rear! AAARGH!
