In basic terms, repairing and painting the outside of a building with a large wall surface area requires a very different approach to painting something like the outside of a normal semi detached house in so far as a much larger amount of external masonry paint or wallcoating is needed, more tools and equipment would be required, more people working on the job, and in many cases, enhanced protection for whoever is around the building is required, as many projects we undertake are buildings that are open to the public, such as retail shops or hotels.

A professional and expert approach is needed when dealing with painting the outside of larger buildings and here at NPA we have the expertise and care you are looking for! The typical “Chap down the road with a paint brush” cannot and would not do large house painting projects such as this and a much more professional approach and methodology is called for when repairing and repainting large buildings.

Often, we are asked to do work to the outside of grade 2 listed buildings, which in many cases, we have to use a mixture of traditional and high-tec methods and materials in order to successfully protect and weatherproof the building for future generations, and that requires professional skill and knowledge and often liaising with people such as architects, surveyors and local authority enforcement officers. The man down the road can’t do that, but we can, we have done, and we will continue to do so.!!!!!!!

We are often approached by agencies such as housing associations to repaint entire streets, we get calls from hotels to repaint the outside of hotels (often during the winter period) and have done several small hotels, holiday homes, and guest houses over the years in holiday areas such as Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Sussex and so on. Our main area of expertise in refurbishing hotels is based around our knowledge and experience of rendering and re-painting several Victorian and Edwardian villas, large houses and country mansions. Remember, NPA has actual hands on extensive experience with this type of property and since the early 1980′s our company have been involved in several major projects of this nature.

We have also had some unusual painting requests such as a world war two air raid shelter (!), barns, cow sheds, oast houses (ex agricultural buildings with a square tower used in the drying of hops usually), several windmills, car parks, lighthouses, a quote request from a major military installation (which we are not allowed to name), a couple of 1st division football clubs and several pubs. We have also painted the outside of TV, music and film stars houses (again, we keep all details private rather than trade off the back of someone else’s fame!), and we have worked on several TV home makeover shows.

Typically we work all the time on both domestic houses and commercial buildings and, apart from the size, often the work we do to the outsides of the building is broadly similar.
