This lovely, large 1930’s House in Gloucester was originally covered in pebbledashed but had been painted many times over the years. The owners wanted a crisp, stay-white wall finish.
The problem with white houses is the fact that they rarely STAY WHITE and can often pick up dirt easily, especially if near a main road, plus any growth of mould or algae shows up very quickly.
The owners of this lovely house were fed up with painting each year, and looking at the house, and the amount of scaffolding required to paint it, a yearly paint job for a place like this can be very expensive indeed!

So how did we carry out this pebbledash wall renovation?
The first thing our team did is to check and examine the walls for loose paint, hollow render, mould and algae, and then treated each wall defect accordingly.
This house had a fair bit of loose paint so we powerwashed the walls and scraped off anything left over.

The rear of the house was not much better either. Much of the paint on the pebbledash had blistered and bubbled away from the wall, which can be seen in the foreground of the next image.
For our teams to achieve a good finish, we need to make sure that all loose paint comes off and any cracks are fixed, and also any areas of hollow rendering must be fixed too.
This was quite a large place and this next photo gives you an idea of the size of the house, however we still got the job done in 6 days.
So how bad was the exterior wall surface here?
Well, pretty bad but we’ve seen much worse I assure you!
The photo below clearly shows how bad the external wall surface was, with a faded, weathered and loose surface that needed our full attention.
Of course the front of any house is what people see first and what many people base their judgement on the rest of the house, so if your property looked like this externally from the front, at least get someone to paint that bit.
If you are trying to sell your home, this is especially important.

Once the walls were of a sound condition, our team masked up the doors and windows to protect areas of the house not be treated or painted.
We then applied a modified latex render, then a waterproof primer, and then we sprayed the final top coat of NEVER PAINT AGAIN exterior wall coatings.
Whenever the NPA wall coatings installation team does a job, we always stick to a predetermined method of works, according to the existing exterior wall finish.

Here is a side wall and you can see the difference in this close up of the wall.
By which we mean that a rendered house, is treated differently from a refurbishment point of view, then a brick or a pebbledashed house.
This is why, although we would love to have an average cost to put on our site, we cant as no two houses are the same and it would be unprofessional for us to simply “guess” how much a wall coating system on your house would cost: we have to come and see it first!
(Although in some cases, if you supply a photo to us by email), we can give you a rough guide price as to what it should cost, more or less.

This previously pebble-dashed property is now free of damp, mould, loose paint and algae and will NOT need to be painted again for up to 20 years!

It sounds prohibitively expensive but it is NOT and you may be surprised as our surveyor will show you that over time, how much much money you will save, this pebbledash painting system system virtually pays for itself and if you consider the amount of work that goes into each job, it actually represents very good value for money!
