This house in the west Midlands needed some serious repair to the exterior walls which had suffered from the harsh weather over many years and looked drab and uninviting, a total contrast to the interior which was well decorated and deceptively spacious.
As you can see from the Project images below, we had to deal with cracked and loose rendering and the bricks at the bottom were in very poor condition so although not really a big job for us, there was still quite a bit of work to get the house exterior walls into good shape.
We got the installation crew to take some photos whilst they were working, so let’s have a look at a few of them shall we?

If you don’t know this part of the UK, Brierley Hill is a nice little place about 3 miles outside of Dudley, and is home to about 14,000 people.
It was always a heavy industrial area but since the decline of industry in the UK, various sites were redeveloped, and the famous MerryHill shopping centre can be found around here.
The Hawbush estate, where this house is located, is just off the A461 Stourbridge road.
So this is more or less the building we started with
Moving around the front of the property, the story was more or less the same, although the owner had already spent some time and money improving the house, as you can see from the photo below.
There were new UPVC windows in there, a brand new front door and a canopy over the front room bay window.
It was evident the owners were going for quality, so good job they chose us then wasn’t it?
We had to spend some time fixing and replacing the pointing (mortar joints between the bricks) before we could start the NEVER PAINT AGAIN exterior wall coating process.

As you can see, we rendered over the bricks beneath the windows, back and front, to create a uniform finish all the way around.
We spend most of the time on each job doing the prep work. If you have had exterior building work in the past, you will know it is the sign of a good tradesman, preparing as much as possible before the final finish.

Once the render and repair work was out of the way, it was time to start the Exterior Wall Coating process by masking up the windows, laying sheets on the floor and applying a primer coat.
Although masking up a house does take some time for us to do, we know all too well that taking time to do this saves a heck of a lot of time once the job is finished.
We leave each job CLEANER than when we arrived.

Now the house is finished, it is fully repaired and weatherproofed and the NPA system we used on the job means that the house will now not need ANY re-painting, nor maintenance, for at least 20 years, fully guaranteed!
