Coming soon to Hot Floors - products specifically for use under wood and laminate floors. Date: 8th October 2006

Hot Floors UK Ltd has been doing some research in response to demand for a system to use beneath laminate, wood and carpeted flooring which does not require the use of a screed / self leveling compound.

The demand for a quick and easy system to fit under laminate, wood, carpeted floors has become obvious top us over the past few months. While all our 150w/sqm products are safe to use under these floor types, they need to be encased in 10mm of leveling compound / screed. This is a little more complex than some home renovators would like. So, we have been doing our research to find a safe and approved product which can easily be used under laminate flooring.

The heating ribbons are very thin strips of heating cable. They come in various lengths according to the room dimensions and are available in widths of either 1.0m or 0.5m. They are as easy to lay as our other products and each mat is laid in parallel and joined to a junction box before being attached to the thermostat.

Title: Ireland Date: 18th September 2006 Hot Floors UK Ltd is proud to announce we are now selling online in Ireland.

This expansion has been in the planning for several months in response to popular demand and a high level of interest from Ireland where online UFH companies are few and far between.

Although we are expanding we remain committed to providing exceptional customer service and the same high quality, Scandinavian designed and made products. Visitors to our site will note that our prices are well below our main competitors.

Are all heating mats / cable available on the internet the same? Date: 18th September 2006

The simple answer to this question is NO. From the outside underfloor heating systems may look similar, that is, the same thickness, colours etc. What makes the difference is the construction of the cable. Some under floor heating companies sell products that are made using cheap components.

These companies :

............may use PTFE for insulation. The Hot Floors cables use Teflon which is more expensive but most importantly more reliable.

............may use heating cable which is a single conductor. Single conductor heating cable is much cheaper to manufacture but also creates a much large EMF (Electromagnetic Field). The Hot Floor heating cables are all twin conductors.

..............may use products/components which are made in China / Taiwan and sometimes assembled in Europe. These products are very cheap to make, but the quality is inconsistent. The Hot Floors products are designed and made in Europe and assembled in Scandinavia.
All the Hot Floors heating cables are yellow in colour, and the heating mats have a black mesh. This is not unique as some other companies have the same colour schemes.

What makes Hot Floors products stand our from others is:

.............the heating cables / mats are made from components only made in Europe, with final assembly taking place in Scandinavia.

.............the heating cables are twin conductors which produce less EMF than the average PC

.............the heating cables are insulated, with pure Teflon insulation, and quality earthing screen.
