The property is a typical white pebble type dash and was built 3 years ago, therefore is in excellent condition. We are looking for quotes to paint the property and note your products are guaranteed for 25 years? I have a problem as follows: a double storey extension was built close to the neighbours house with a gap of about 8 inches between the walls. The extension was built using thermalite bricks but no render was applied and the finish of this wall is poor. Is it possible to render this wall using your system?

i built my home in 2004 [sub contracted]and i'm having major problems with driving rain from the south west / west penetrating the clay bricks. a cavity tray was installed, though has probably been put in to low [its about 10mm below garage roof level], and then a really smart roofing contractor installed a polyresin roof to our patio [above garage] as we initially thought it must be a leaking roof, and covered the existing weep holes. the problem of water in our garage in the driving winter rains is now worse than ever. i'm trying to get a bricklayer to reinstall a new cavity tray [which should stop the problem] but i'm also interested in this product to enhance the trays protection.

The house I've purchased is over 100 years old and a couple of thick black tiles approx 30 cm x 40 cm x 2cm with bevelled edges (which must have been salvaged from the old fireplace) are being used as a sort of shelf where the old fireplace would have been. I have a Victorian Semi, about 120 years old, which is suffering from some areas of blown render and cracking of existing rendering. This all needs repairing, and the house re-coating. It's not a particularly difficult job, although the house is fairly high (I estimate about 28 feet to the apex of the roof). I was wondering how much this work would be likely to cost me, or how I can get an estimate from your company.

I have a 1930s detached house, brick built, rendered. It has been extended, and the rendering is not all the same style. It is also cracked/coming away in a few places. On the north side, we also have some damp problems in one upstairs bedroom. It may just be a chimney which a rotating cowl fell off, or there might be some damp penetration through the walls (but no signs downstairs). Maybe it's just the condensation caused by the north facing cold wall? I tried ringing just now but got no answer so thought I'd start off with an email. I could just patch up the render, but I'm interested to see if your technology might provide a qualitatively better solution. I look forward to hearing from you. Tony

Please help.We are painting a house which has water damage. We have rubbed the wall down and sealed it. We have painted it twice now. But the stain is still coming through. We live in Cyprus where the humidity is quite high during the summer months, we have dried the wall as best we can. At the moment the temperature is in the high 20's and the humidity is 68% roughly.

I have an old detached house that has been extended over the years. The original is approximately 200yrs old, next to that a piece 100yrs old and attached to that an extension of some 10 years old. It is all brick construction that has been directly painted over. The problems are only in the old part (200 & 100yrs old). The bricks are very old, some are porous and crumbling so the paint does not stick even though it was only painted 3 years ago. We also get damp problems inside. What are my options? I currently have pebledash rendering on my house. There is damp in one of the lower rooms which I had previously treated internally, replastered and placed two air vents in the room in the hope that this would solve the problem. 6 months on the internal plaster is blistering, so the problem is not fixed. Am now thinking that it is now external problems leaking into the house. Would like this sorted out as soon as possible as it is holding internal works up. I have a semi-detached Welsh traditional labourer's cottage rendered in pebbledash. Is it possible to paint it white without removing the existing pebble-dash? Or do you re-render it? Also, can you give me a ball-park idea as to cost? It is a one bedroom, groundfloor construction about 20' x 20' with an attached stable about 10' x 15.' There is very little pebbbledash at the back of the house as there is a conservatory with 90cm wall so it is only really the front of house (about 6'high, door height 5'7 (!)) and one side as it is semi detached on the other side.

Hello, I need some advice,i wander whether the building here needs rendering or if it is a different problem. Our building is 1960's build, 2 layer of brick. Every flat has problems with condensation and mould in the winter where the warm air of the flats hit the cold brick. Mould growth has to be kept under control. EDITORS NOTE: That depends on many things, mainly the SIZE of the house (or at least the wall area to be painted), the condition of your house (such as if it has damp, cracks in the walls and so on), the location (down a 10 mile muddy track or city centre etc), and so on. We have come across your website whilst searching for a painter (internal & external) for our new grade II listed Georgian home on the outskirts of Bridgewater.
The property was originally built in 1801, and is of approximately 7000sq ft, with approximately 30 rooms. At present the property is a ‘shell’, however had been used for a number of years as a boys boarding school until 1989 when it closed.
As we have extensive works to be completed at the property we have arranged for various trades to meet with us on site on Thur************ to discuss our requirements. We would also like to invite you along to view the property and provide a quotation for the works to be completed.

Thank you for inviting me to answer this question.
You ask about the dangers of lead paint? Well firstly, lead paint is not generally available in western countries and it has been banned by many governments for some time, but it is still in use in 3rd world and developing countries and, without doing further research, these countries probably have a higher than average incidence of lead poisoning. Lead paint is harmful!
Lead poisoning is also known as painters colic, or devon colic, although as I live in a county in the UK called devon, i am not sure why the last one is called that!
Lead has been used in paints, dyes and stains for thousands of years and it is only nowadays that we fully know how dangerous it can be. Poisoning by lead can cause a metallic taste in the mouth, extreme tiredness, nausea or vomiting and in extreme cases, death. Poisoning in women, can also lead later in life to giving birth to children with learning disabilities and worse, so it should never be handled unless you know what you are doing. Lead was until recently also used in Petrol, and a variety of other consumables. Exposure to small or low levels over a short period is not great, but not serious. Long term or extreme exposure IS.
Children's Toys also used to be made of lead, for example lead soldiers made by "Britains" or "Charbens", beloved by (adult) collectors but absolutely should NOT be given to a child. A famous case not too long ago with Mattel toys made in China hit the headlines when it was found that the factory in China had used lead paint and all products had to be recalled and
destroyed.
Almost all paints available in stores today do not have lead in them so it is not usually something
to be concerned about, however..................
.............if you are in the process of decorating an old place, and are removing paint from wood
for example, there may be a high chance the old paint has lead in it.
YOU SHOULD WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, EYE GOGGLES AND A PAINTERS MASK. INGESTION OF FLAKES OF PAINT CONTAMINATED WITH LEAD CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS ILLNESS AND SHOULD NOT BE ATTEMPTED UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT
YOU ARE DOING!! If in doubt, call your local painting or wallcoating contractor who can advise you.

Hi,
I am interested in identifying any of your surface coatings for the
following uses in a new concrete mixing plant and your company appears to
offer potentially suitable products. The issues in plant I am looking to
address are as follows:
1. A coating to apply to the surfaces of the concrete walls to help
minimise retention of splashes of wet cement mix, water and cement powder
on the wall surfaces. Operators will have a low pressure wash available
to hose the walls down if they are splashed, and a mop if necessary. The
intention is to regularly rinse/wipe down the walls during plant
operation but I am looking for a coating for the walls of the plant that
will help minimise the effort required to rinse/wash down the walls.
2. A liner for the internals of a 10 m long steel pipe that will carry
freshly mixed cement. The desire is for a flow promoting surface with
wear and alkali resistance.
3. A liner for the internals of a 40 m long steel pipe that will carry
plant waste water containing some cement and occasionally discharge
batches of freshly mixed cement. The desire is for a flow promoting
surface with wear and alkali resistance.
4. A surface finish or coating with flow promoting properties with wear
and alkali resistance for cement mixers - both internals and externals.
5. A surface finish or coating with flow promoting properties with wear
and alkali resistance for general metal surfaces e.g. metal drip trays
under the mixers, pipework externals, screw feeds inside pipework (cement
powder feed into the mixers), etc.
The surfaces in question are all in an internal room so no external
weathering effects (UV) are in action on the surfaces. The plant is due to
operate for some 20+ years. There will be the opportunity to replace these
coatings and liners but long products life is desirable to minimise the
effort needed.

what you consider to be the most appropriate coating for my applications.
